A new laptop!

Finally! We invested in a new laptop and, once again, life is GOOD! We got a Toshiba Satellite A505 and we're loving it! It's rated #5 in consumer reports, and it has not disappointed thus far. You know the saying, "You don't know what you've got till it's gone?" Well, the best thing about having a new laptop is simiply the ability to move from room to room/chair to chair without having to plug in/unplug and restart the computer every time. It's the simple things..... :)

In other news, I'll be 24 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I am totally feeling it. I feel like I should be 34 weeks some days. I've gotten much more uncomfortable with this baby early on. I had a MW appointment 2 days ago and my uterus is measuring 3 weeks ahead! I am really hoping that I will not have another big baby. 7-8 pounds would be alright. But please, not another 9 pounder! I need to get some red raspberry leaf tea and get my uterus prepared. I really think that is what contributed to my quick labor with Logan. But even if it didn't, I like the taste and it doesn't do any harm. Sooo, why not?

We're still trying to name the baby, but more to come on that later! Have a great week everyone! And try to stay cool out there, it's been a scorcher!

Back with BIG news!

So I've been having computer issues lately-BLAH! My power cord is shot and my computer turns itself off at will. My laptop also does not recognize that there is a battery in it and does not charge, which means, I'm stuck with a powercord 24/7. Okay, computers wear out you say.....but in 1.5 years?? I got this computer in the summer of 2008. By the summer of 2009...just after the 1 year warranty had expired...the battery stopped charging and the power cord wore out. I have now had this laptop for almost 2 years and I am on power cord #3. I could use a new battery as well, but the price of those things is super high! I may or may not buy one, but I am getting a new laptop soon regardless. Also, the left-click button is broken. I can click, but the button does not spring back and I sometimes have to hit the button several times to click on something. Sooooo.....this has made regular postings difficult! But all will be fixed soon with a trip to Best Buy!

Since it's been so long, we now know the gender of our pumpkin seed! We are having another, yes, ANOTHER BOY! I have to admit that, after 2 boys, I was hoping for a girl, but I've had a few weeks to let the information sink in and I'm getting excited about having another son, and another brother for Micah and Logan. I think they'll do great things together. Now that we know that this baby is, indeed, another boy, the question I hear ALL the time is, "Will you try again for a girl?". And the answer is, YES! Our first child was a girl and I can't take it to my grave that I was supposed to have a daughter, but never did. I NEED to have a daughter. Now, if #4 is a boy again, we may reevaluate our feelings....or rather my feelings as Mat is ready to be done now. But we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

And Intelligender says.....

It's A...
I took one of these Intelligender tests with my last pregnancy and it was right! Now, don't get me wrong, I would never paint the nursery based on Intelligender results, but it is fun to do. I still think my odds are 50/50 either way, but it was neat. You have to be at least 10 weeks pregnant, and you just use first morning urine, add it to the cup and see what color it changes. There are crystals in the cup and they react with the urine and change color according to what the test senses and thinks that you are having. If it turns green, you are supposed to be having a boy. If it turns orange, a girl is in your future. I wasn't entirely sure which side mine matched since it didn't appear truly green OR orange, so I emailed a picture to Intelligender and this is the response that I got from them the next day:

Based on this picture this is a boy result!

Congratulations and please let us know when you confirm!

The Moms of IntelliGender

So we'll see! Just 7 weeks to go and we'll know if it's a boy or a girl! I have my second prenatal appointment with my MW tomorrow. I'll be 1 days shy of 11 weeks.

A distant place.

I'm 10 weeks pregnant today. The heart is still beating strong (thank goodness for dopplers) and I'm starting to feel a little bit better. My appetite has decreased which is good, but I haven't had much energy. I am tired. From about noon to 4pm I just want to crash. So during naptime the other day I started looking online for some close ultrasound places that will do an elective ultrasound and tell you the sex of your baby after 14 weeks. And I found one! It's a 2 hour drive from here and costs $95, but I could potentially find out if this baby is a boy or a girl in a little more than 4 weeks! I already have a medical ultrasound scheduled with the university hospital set for 8 weeks from today, but finding out 4 weeks sooner sure is tempting! If it wasn't such a long drive, I would totally do it. But, I suppose I should try to hold out the extra 4 weeks. Sigh.

9 more weeks

Only 9 more weeks until our big ultrasound! I am so excited I can hardly wait. Of course I am hoping for a girl since I already have 2 boys, but I would be happy about have 3 little boys just the same. Plus, I already have a boy name picked out that I am really liking. And no girl name as of yet. So either way, it's a win-win. I usually wait until I know the gender though before I start looking at names seriously though so I can narrow the choices by half.

Micah and my mom both think that this baby will be a girl. Everyone else thinks it will be another boy, including myself. I have been right in guessing the gender with all 3 of my kids. And soon we'll know if my intuition is serving me right yet again!

SWOM and social networking

Who doesn't love social networking? You can find almost anyone on Facebook and it's easy to communicate with people from all parts of the world from the comfort of your home computer. Then Twitter came along and once again, you can type out a short message and reach literally thousands of people in seconds. Social networking sites are expanding to meet the needs of different sects of people as well. SWOM is a site that I've recently run across that is a social networking site for marketers. SWOM is a diverse social networking community with an array of opportunities and information. Check it out if you get the chance.
